'Carlos Puente Ortega has his eye on Madrid.

A   clean look, serene evening perhaps the memory of his father, a great painter in Madrid. Or his uncle Pepe, a painter of Santa Ana, "that of bulls. "

So maybe the Madrid of Carlos has some sad and stale, today and yesterday found in his watercolors.

Trained architect and painter by vocation, rooted in the coherence of its perspective, the freshness of their direct stroke intuit the art of their teachers. Moreover, we can feel in this bright morning of   Barley Square, beyond the fantastic facade of La Chata or terrace Chocolate San Ginés.

Madrid is one that can smell, touch, hear, and who knows how to see, look. "

Madrid through its pubs.

If anything characterizes Madrid, which means with respect to any other city in the world, one could say with confidence that their abundance is never in excess, in pubs, bars, restaurants, inns.

From   "Corner bar, which offers early morning coffee with clubs that typical Madrid and not so good the appetizer almost inexcusable in these parts, even the most prestigious restaurants that you want to find, through the inns and taverns that water, pun intended, the city.

A stroll through the Plaza Mayor, the Cava Baja, Plaza de Santa Ana and Huertas, Opera and around the Royal Palace, the district of Chueca, Latina ... give witness to this.

But not only in the center, the way of other world cities who have concentrated their services areas we find bars, restaurants, inns, far from it!. They also make its formal appearance in the "confines" of Madrid, understood by the Plaza de Castilla confines or Vallecas, to name two geographically opposite quarters. It is not easy to find a   lacks street bar.

I started my career in the art world by painting Madrid, accompanied by colleagues from the Faculty of Architecture and   no   I stopped doing it, more or less often, with varying degrees of success since then.

Some time ago I had been hanging around an idea connected with precisely this issue of Madrid, painting, bars.

It was there, although it was not easy to grasp its magnitude, there was always a yes, it would be nice, but ... and there appeared to brake, excuse, or simply have not entirely clear why and how.

It occurred to me why not paint Madrid, yes, Madrid, Madrid all through the   bars, taverns and restaurants in it ... or was it the other way around, which I considered painting all the bars and I realized I was painting Madrid?.

Few months I've been immersed in it and I have no clear how it began, is the story of a chicken and egg. Madrid and bars, bars and Madrid. Rather was the latter.

I realized that if you make a play, a work of art, of course!, Líbrenme to entangle the owners of the bars in Madrid in a work of plaster and paint, each and every one of which is in the city would reflect almost all of it.

Its people, its corners, balconies and lampposts, pedestrian areas and not so these terraces, as here, full of life, and certainly many nuances that escape me but certainly will not do my brush.

Beyond the great importance as visual documentation of the city   can reach after the end, I approach this project with two objectives.

In Madrid   There establishments embellished with some of my watercolors, (Viva Madrid   Switzerland, Cervecería Santa Ana, El Callejon de Madrid, Don Paco ...), why not dump a detail of my painting   all?. Is it an illusion to think that there   a picture of me in every bar, every restaurant, every tavern, which represents itself?. Is it crazy to take Madrid by an almost infinite boundless exhibition hall in which each bar is a hook on the wall, and each facade has a theme to represent? Yes, of course it is. It is if you think   in each and every one, but if you think of a great or not so much of them.

And ultimate intention (or first, we return to the chicken and egg ...), we translate the work into a great book or collection of them, which would also serve as a great restaurant guide in Madrid.

For more than a year I got down to work, and what began as a project is taking shape almost unimaginable, in large part by the support I am receiving from the owners of more than milo establishments that I painted to date.

Renowned sites such as Lucio, Booty, Lhardy, among others, have opened their doors without any work and delighted to have joined this great initiative.

The street, a table, paper, some brushes and watercolors were my "weapons."

Arms I've been honing over time and that part of the record, my best friend and which I thought was lacking,   I hope to help me develop this madness in which I am immersed.
